Register your pet free, before they're ever lost

Save a photo, microchip number and your phone in 2 minutes. If your pet goes missing, finders can reach you fast.

How it works

  1. Register your pet. Add a photo, breed, color, zip, and a microchip or tattoo number while they are safe at home.
  2. If they go missing, open Find Your Lost Pet, search pets that have been found, then report yours as lost so a finder can match you.
  3. If you find a pet, open I Found a Pet. Search by zip first. If there is no owner, list the pet. We keep your contact for the owner.

If a pet is missing

Start with a search, not a guess. If your dog or cat is gone, open lost pets and look by ZIP, breed, and color. Report yours missing on the same page so a finder can match the photo. If you have the pet and are looking for the owner, use found pets, then ask a vet or shelter to scan for a microchip.

Call the shelters and veterinary clinics near where the pet was last seen. Give them the name, color, and a photo. Check again the next morning. Pets are often brought in overnight.

Register the pet on LostPet.com while they are still home. The photo, breed, color, and chip number are already saved, so you are not hunting for them in a panic. Searching, reporting, and registering are free. Questions are on the FAQ.
